School education is essential for every child, especially those who are poor, orphaned, or has dropped out of school. It gives them a valuable second chance to rebuild their lives and create a better future. Without education, many of these children remain stuck in poverty, facing exploitation and limited opportunities. Schools not only teach basic subjects like reading, writing, and arithmetic but also help build confidence, discipline, and important social skills. For orphaned children, school can serve as a safe place that provides care, stability, and emotional support. Education also helps them develop critical thinking and make informed choices in life.

For children from economically weaker backgrounds, education opens pathways to employment and financial independence. It reduces the chances of child labour and early marriage, especially among girls. Schools promote equality by offering every child the same opportunity to learn and grow. When dropout children return to school, they regain hope and a sense of direction. Teachers play a vital role in guiding and mentoring them to overcome their challenges. Education also nurtures values such as empathy, cooperation, and responsibility. In the long run, educating these children helps build a fairer and more progressive society.

With this vision, Samaj Bikshan Kendra has started a school in the remote village of Kishorinagar in South 24 Parganas. Here, 38 poor and orphaned children are currently receiving basic education and a chance to transform their lives for the better.
